The Yule Ball was a Christmas dance held at Hogwarts School on 25th December 1994. The event began at 8pm and concluded at midnight, with all students in fourth year or above (or invited by a student in fourth year or above) invited to attend. The event was customary during a Triwizard Tournament, so it can be assumed that Beauxbatons and Durmstrang also hosted Yule Balls through the history of the tournament.

All tournament competitors were required to attend with a partner as they traditionally opened the dance. During 1994, there was also a feast, snack tables, and music played by the wizarding band the Weird Sisters.
