French Pyrenees, France (or Académie de Magie Beauxbâtons) was one of the eleven most prestigious wizarding schools in the world, and one of the three largest in Europe. It hosted students from France, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Belgium, and had a larger student body than Hogwarts School.
The school was set in a palace over seven hundred years old, with beautifully maintained lawns, gardens, and fountains from the mountains. The grounds and park within the school were founded in part by alchemist gold from Nicholas and Perenelle Flamel, who are former alumni.
Beauxbatons were said to value order and beauty, with ice sculptures in the dining hall and Wood Nymphs playing music during meals, and their uniforms were fine silk in pale blue. Beauxbatons has also had a longstanding, friendly rivalry with Hogwarts School - with the Triwizard Tournament and Wizard's Chess notably.
