Ginger is a flowering plant with roots used in a variety of potions, such as the Wit-Sharpening Potion and the Beautification Potion, as well as cooking - such as Ginger Newts - and Butterbeer. It is also a common ingredient in folk medicine and treating stomach upset. Students studied this plant in their Fifth year Herbology class.
