Hermione was born on 19th September 1979 to Muggle parents. She was an only child and was very intelligent growing up. Her parents, who worked as dentists, had no idea she was magical, and only found out when she got her Hogwarts acceptance letter. During the summer before her attendance, she studied the curriculum, castle, and classes extensively.
Hermione met Harry Potter and Ron Weasley on the train ride, and was sorted into Gryffindor after around four minutes. During her first months at Hogwarts, she excelled academically and was a stickler for the rules, which led to Ron calling her a “nightmare”. After Harry and Ron rescued her from the mountain troll, Hermione took the blame, and thus the ‘Golden Trio’ was formed. Thanks to Hermione’s brains, the trio discovered the Philosopher’s Stone was hidden in the castle and were able to circumvent the challenges protecting it, culminating in the Stone being protected from Voldemort. In her second year, she developed a crush on Gilderoy Lockhart, though this faded as it became clear he was a fraud. When the Chamber of Secrets was opened, Hermione discovered the creature must have been a basilisk, but before she could tell Harry and Ron, she was Petrified along with Penelope Clearwater. Thanks to a message she wrote out, Harry was able to defeat the basilisk, and Hermione was revived by the Mandrake Restorative Draught.
In Third Year, Hermione fell out with Harry and Ron after reporting Harry’s Firebolt to Professor McGonagall, and things soured further when Crookshanks developed a habit of chasing Scabbers. They reconciled as the truth about Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew came to light. Hermione also revealed that she had been given a Time-Turner so she could attend all her extra optional classes, and with Harry’s help, used it to rescue Buckbeak and help Sirius escape. During Fourth Year, Hermione attended the Quidditch World Cup, watched Winky being treated terribly, and thus began S.P.E.W. to protect House-Elves from what she saw as gross mistreatment. At Hogwarts, she was the only one to believe Harry when he said he had not entered the Triwizard Tournament, helped him prepare for the tasks, and was hurt by Ron deciding she was his last choice for the Yule Ball when she had already accepted Viktor Krum’s invitation. She also discovered Rita Skeeter was an unregistered animagus, trapped her in a jar, and blackmailed her into stopping her hurtful and false articles. After Cedric Diggory’s death, Hermione was one of the few who believed Harry when he said that Voldemort had been resurrected.
During Fifth Year, Hermione stayed at Grimmauld Place, helped get Harry safely to his trial, and at Hogwarts responded to Umbridge’s refusal to teach practical magic by helping form Dumbledore’s Army, using a charmed sign-up sheet and coins to keep the meetings secret. She arranged Harry’s Quibbler interview through Rita Skeeter, and when Marietta Edgecombe betrayed the DA, Hermione’s jinx left her with “SNEAK” in boils across her forehead. After their exams, Hermione fabricated a secret weapon in the forest to draw Umbridge out there, and later flew with the others to the Ministry, where she was badly injured in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries. In Sixth Year, Hermione was disappointed by her ‘Exceeds Expectations’ in Defence Against the Dark Arts, cautioned Harry against relying on the Half-Blood Prince’s book, and suffered through growing tension with Ron, Lavender Brown, and Cormac McLaggen. After Ron drank poisoned mead intended for Dumbledore, the tension between them began to dissipate. By the end of the year, Draco had let Death Eaters into the school, Albus Dumbledore was murdered by Severus Snape, and Hermione agreed to join Harry and Ron in hunting horcruxes.
With Voldemort increasingly controlling facets of the magical world, Hermione erased her parents’ memories of her, created new aliases for them, and had them move to Australia. She joined the Order of the Phoenix, took part in the Battle of the Seven Potters, and later received a copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard from Dumbledore’s will. After the Ministry fell, Hermione, Ron, and Harry fled and began hunting horcruxes. Hermione used Polyjuice Potion to infiltrate the Ministry as Mafalda Hopkirk and retrieve Slytherin’s locket from Umbridge, endured the trio’s growing tensions as the locket’s Dark magic influenced them, and continued on even after Ron left. She escaped Godric’s Hollow with Harry after Nagini attacked him and Voldemort arrived, reunited with Ron so the locket could be destroyed, learned of the Deathly Hallows from Xenophilius Lovegood, was captured by Snatchers, and was interrogated and tortured by Bellatrix Lestrange at Malfoy Manor before Dobby helped them escape. Hermione then helped break into Gringotts disguised as Bellatrix to retrieve Hufflepuff’s Cup, and finally returned to Hogwarts with Harry and Ron for the Battle of Hogwarts. There, Hermione and Ron destroyed Hufflepuff’s Cup with a basilisk fang, the trio found Ravenclaw’s Diadem in the Room of Requirement, and Crabbe’s Fiendfyre destroyed both the horcrux and himself. Hermione fought in the battle while Harry faced Voldemort, and after Voldemort’s Killing Curse rebounded in the final duel, the war was over.
After the war ended, Hermione went to Australia to restore her parents’ memories and returned to Hogwarts to complete her NEWT exams. Following graduation, she had an illustrious career, first working for the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures before being promoted into the Department of Magical Law Enforcement as Deputy Head. She became a lead member of the Statute of Secrecy Task Force during the Calamity, became Minister of Magic in 2019, married Ron Weasley, and had two children: Rose and Hugo Granger-Weasley. She was also named godmother to James Sirius Potter. In 2020, after Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy stole a Time-Turner and set in place several alternate timelines, Hermione helped set the timeline back in order, and Delphi was arrested and sent to Azkaban.
