Overview

The Burrow was the Weasley family home located near Ottery St Catchpole and the Lovegood House. Originally a stone pigpen, the house expanded upwards until it was several stories high and held up entirely by magic. It was considered a cluttered but welcoming home.

The Burrow was frequently been used as a safehouse for friends of the family, and became the headquarters for the Order of the Phoenix in 1997 following Albus Dumbledore's death. However, during the wedding reception for Bill and Fleur, the Ministry fell to Lord Voldemort, and the enchantments protecting the Burrow were destroyed and Death Eaters attacked.

The Weasleys were forced to abandon their home in 1998 after Ron was discovered aiding Harry, but Arthur and Molly returned after the Battle of Hogwarts. Their home became famous after the publication of One Hundred Historical Sites from the Second Wizarding War and witches and wizards travelled to take photos outside.
