Overview
The Bat-Bogey Hex transformed the target's bogeys into bats, which flew out of their nose. This spell was invented by Miranda Goshawk, who used it frequently on her nine older sisters. The spell has been involved in at least two 'incidents' - one being the Hex of 1972, when a whole class of students at Hogwarts were affected. Another was a cursed bottle which chased students until it was corked.
This spell was a favourite of Ginny Weasley, who was notorious for using it. She used it on Draco Malfoy to overpower him in Dolores Umbridge's office to allow her and her friends to escape, and on Zacharias Smith, who was pressuring her to tell him what happened during the Battle of the Department of Mysteries.
