Overview
One of many magical joke items invented by the Weasley Twins, Nosebleed Nougats were part of the Skiving Snackbox range designed to produce symptoms that would get students out of class. Eating the orange sweet would cause them to develop a heavy nosebleed, while eating the purple sweet would stop the bleeding.
The sweets were tested extensively by the Weasley Twins during the 1995-96 school year, mostly as part of the Umbridge-itis craze designed to irritate Dolores Umbridge. They were also used in 1997 to elicit a nosebleed in Albert Runcorn so that Harry could impersonate him using the Polyjuice Potion.
