Inspired by a 12th Century brew to cure colds created by Linfred of Stinchcombe, in the 18th or 19th Century the Pepperup Potion was perfected by Glover Hipworth.

Used to cure colds, it is known for its side effect of causing the drinker's ears to emit steam, sometimes for hours afterwards. This potion was taught to Fourth Year students at Hogwarts School.

A modified version of this potion was brewed to help a poorly dragon to breathe fire.
