The Flobberworm, widely considered boring by students and the Ministry of Magic alike, was a brown, magical worm, about 10 inches long. The ends of a flobberworm were identical and they ate lettuce and cabbage and excreted mucus, sometimes used in potions as a thickener - notably the Wiggenweld Potion, Herbicide Potion, and Sleeping Draught. They had no teeth and did very little, mostly eating and sitting in ditches.

Flobberworms are one of the only living things that could be summoned with the Summoning Charm, and they were edible, with Flobberworm Fritters occasionally on the menu at Hogwarts School.
