Overview
The General Counter-Spell was a spell used to reverse or negate spells, which could range from reversing Levitation Charms, to negating the dark protective spell Protego Diabolica. It could also be used to pause enchantments on a house, for example if a Muggle came to the door. It was not effective against all spells, however, as some require specific counter-spells to be cancelled. The spell's incantation can also be shortened to 'Finite'. This spell was taught in Second and Third year at Hogwarts School.
