Chocolate frog cards were collectible trading cards obtained by purchasing a chocolate frog. The cards were pentagon-shaped and featured a picture of a famous or infamous spellcaster, as well as information about them. They could be stored in a folio and were commonly collected by Hogwarts students.

Historically, these cards feature Quidditch players, inventors, authors, musicians, historical figures, unusual spellcasters, and Dark wizards and witches from bygone times. However, modern Dark wizards Grindelwald and Voldemort did not feature on a card. An expanded series introduced creatures, giants, dragons, and more.
