Overview
Mistakenly invented by Jarleth Hobart in his attempt to fly unaided, the Levitation Charm works in a similar way to the Levitation Spell, Locomotion Charm, and Hover Charm, and can be used to magically lift objects. The length of time and level of control depended on the weight of the object, and how strong the witch or wizard in question was.
The Charm's key limitation is that it does not work on humans, although the inventor, Hobart, was under the impression it did. What is actually being levitated in these cases is the target's clothing, and usually resulted in levitating a few feet off the floor rather than actual flight. This spell can be countered using the General Counter-Spell.
