I think Draco Malfoy can in the first book/movie be seen as a good and bad person, but mostly bad, as he first tries engaging in conversation with Harry Potter. What we see is that as he does this he also shows that he has a bad side when he asks if an orphan’s parents are "our kind" (pure-bloods), and also says that "the other sort" (muggle borns) shouldn’t be allowed at Hogwarts. We then get to see more of his bad side when they next meet, where Draco ridicules Ron Weasley’s family, which makes Harry decline the friendship of Draco. He continues showing his bad side while trying to get Harry expelled by telling Argus Filch of a duel he tricked Harry into at midnight, however this failed.
After the first book/movie it is established that Harry and Draco are going to be enemies, where Draco is the bad guy, which is logical since he is rude to a lot of people. We can see him mocking Hagrid, and trying to get Harry expelled or injured multiple times, we aso see him spreading misinformation to Rita Skeeter about Harry and Hagrid. We can also see him failing some of his attempts at harming Harry, for example in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" he tried cursing Harry behind his back, which resulted in this:
Continuing onwards he gets Harry and the Weasley twins expelled from the Gryffindor quidditch team, as a prefect, after they attack him since he insulted their families. So we still see that he is a bad guy. However, in movie/book 6 we get to see a new side to him, although he still acts bad when he for example curses a necklace, we also see him having something similar to a nervous breakdown. We are shown that he cries in Moaning Myrtle’s bathroom where Harry arrives, and Draco gets injured, and although we know he has the mission of killing Albus Dumbledore, we also see that he is not capable of cold-blooded murder, when Snape has to do it instead.
In the last movie/book we can see that when he looses a friend, he grieves for him, showing that he indeed is not a cold-hearted person, but he still has a hard time showing his soft side. He still works with Voldemort, who now uses the Malfoy Manor as a base of operations, but when he is asked to identify Ron, Hermione and Harry, he says "it might be" even though they are recognisable. We can see that even though they are his enemies, he does not want them to die, and therefore doesn’t say that they are clearly the trio. In the epilogue he is seen giving a nod to Harry, Hermione, Ginny and Ron, even though they are not friends, they have put the whole thing behind them, and I like to believe he has become a very nice person.
We also asked Crystal White from Ravenclaw what she thought about Draco Malfoy.
What did you think of Draco Malfoy the first and last time you heard about/saw him in the books/movies?
"My first impression of Draco Malfoy was a self-centred jerk, who came from a rich family and was used to not only having things served on a silver plate, but also that his dad was going to fix things Draco himself couldn’t. Luckily, he’s had a – in my opinion – positive development through the story.
My last impression of Draco in the last book was someone torn between hic comfort zone of being a jerk, and someone who’s had enough of being forced to do bad things for Voldemort/dark wizards. Also, in the “19 years later” chapter, we learn that Draco has found himself a wife, as well as a son who really seems like he’s loved by both his parents. So, it became a man out of Draco too."
That’s it for this time, if you have a character you want us to talk about next time, please write them down below, and we would love to hear your opinion of Draco.

Felix Stone Draco is one of my favorite characters from the book. It showed the conflict between coming from a rich family being taught to nearly certain way and had to act that way. In the end I would of liked to see draco being a different person than the way it ended up. I would of liked to either email him become a good person or ether stay the violin of the story instead of being conflicted in the middle of what he was sapost to be and what he thought was right.
