To make the blog even more interesting, it is now possible to send in suggestions for question! All you have to do is send your suggestions in an owl to Thomas Wilder. Who knows, maybe your question will be in the next blog? ;)
Today we continue the line of lovely yellow. This guy is the leader of the Plot Team and a master planner, if I should say so myself. Give it up for the one and only Sebastian Hawthorne!
Your life quote / motto!
Do for others what you want them to do for you.
I think a lot of people know the saying the other way around, "don't do to others what you would not like done to you." and though I agree with the sentiment I think it looks at it from a wrong point of view. I think we should all treat each other with respect and be there for our friends if they need us, be kind, generous and much more. But somebody can't really be kind if they have never experienced kindness and the point of that "motto" is that sometimes you have to give first and you will be on the receiving end of it some other time. Other times it will have just been you being kind or helpful and someone just taking a piss and that sucks, but if we don't lead by example and treat others the way we want to be treated than how can we expect them to do it for us. I know it is cheesy as fuck, but hey... deal with it, real me is cheesy ;)
If you could have lived through any period of time, which would it be and why?
I would have lived during the Renaissance if I could choose, though maybe old and with less comfort, it seems like an interesting and innovative time. The printing press having just being invented, religion being questioned on a large scale. Though maybe it would not be as fascinating if I would not know what we know now, I think it would be really cool to see.
If you could spend 24 hours with any person (dead or alive), who would it be and why?
Edward Snowden. I know to some people it might sound odd, the man has had his entire life explored on tv and there was even a movie about him, but he did something incredibly brave even if people say it was wrong or that he is a traitor, betraying your employer, your country to do what you think is right takes a lot of courage and besides that there is a romance to what he did and that is why I would like to talk to him.
What is your favourite thing about WoP and why?
I love the writing opportunities that the site yields and especially the community that the site creates not only through social contact but through this creative outlet that is a very specific hobby. Nobody in my IRL surroundings has the same hobby as me and when it comes to writing I have often felt alone not knowing where to start as it is so vast and open and you can go pretty much anywhere with it. Discovering this community, the amazing people that everybody is has been so good for me, finding people to explore my hobby with and show a side of me that my IRL friends barely see. I love some of the people I have met here and WoP often has a way of cheering me up when I need it. But if I had to summarize it, it would be that WoP brings together people who share a love of Harry Potter and a love of writing and that it yields opportunities to explore both of those passions, with others in a social setting.
