Ravishing Recipes

Edition 1

Hey there, {%FIRSTNAME%}! My name is Isabela Zimri, one of the fabulous boysens on WoP UK, and I happily welcome you to my blog, Ravishing Recipes! Here, I will be sharing recipes for food, specifically the ones you see on the site, such as chocolate frogs, muffins, ice cream, and all other foods! So, do you like food and want to know how to make delicious ones? You're in luck because this article will tell you exactly how! Let's jump right into it and learn more about...

Cauldron Cakes

This food can be found in the Sweet Shoppe in the Village.
Fun Fact: There's a transfiguration spell that turns cauldron cakes into cabbages!

To make this delectable dessert, make sure to have all the ingredients and follow the instructions very carefully! Check out this lovely site where I found the recipe!

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups French buttercream frosting (it can be homemade too!)
  • ¼ tsp red and yellow food gel each (to color frosting, but you can of course choose other colors or just one if you'd like!)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F. Whisk the dry ingredients in a small bowl then add in the wet ingredients, aside from frostings and gels, and stir until you get a smooth but thick batter. Beat out all the chunks too!
  2. Pour the batter into a cauldron mould until 2/3rds full. Don't overfill. You may have 2-3 tablespoons of leftover batter.
  3. Place on a baking sheet to catch any spills that may happen. Bake for 28-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cake cool to room temperature then chill while preparing the buttercream.
  4. If you bought or made plain white buttercream frosting, use the food gels to color it. Place the frosting in the center of a 15x15 square of plastic wrap and roll into a tube. Place both wrapped frostings into a piping bag with a star or drop tip.
  5. Pipe the frosting in multiple layers to recreate the flames on top of the cauldron cake. If you'd like to, for best results, chill for 8-10 hours to fully set the frosting.
This food is a very sweet one, though slightly salty too. It's delicious so if you think you'd like it, go ahead and try making it! ⚠ Disclaimer: ⚠ It is not my fault if you burn your kitchen, please be careful as to not do this.
That is all for the first edition of Ravishing Recipes! Make sure to leave a comment and if you happen to have a suggestion, feel free to send it to me through owls! I hope you enjoyed reading my first blog, have lots of fun baking if you choose to and enjoy the rest of your day!
