Dear users of WoP! It has been a very long time since we last had a friendship post on the blog, but is time again and this time we are joined by the two beauties Leofwine Wells & Adrian Summers!
This post will not be a regular post, if you want to be featured in it, you just owl me (Andreia) and we will figure something out!
Do you and your friend want to be featured? Do you have an amazing friendship story? Contact the SoMe team and tell us everything and we will create a post with you and your friend.
Now onto the two lovely men we have spoken to recently, who are great friends IRL and have an amazing relation on site too!
Leofwine Wells' information will be Green.
Adrian Summers' information will be Red.
First of: How did you guys meet?
I think what first made us chat was when we become colleagues, and we figured that we needed a relation for our characters, but once that was settled we started chatting about everything and anything! I remember us both saying that we felt like we clicked immediately after our very first conversation though, and that was the moment I knew that we would be amazing friends!
It was a very basic conversation we had first - as newly found colleagues, of course we needed a relation! But, it didn’t keep with this simple topic, soon we found ourselves talking about anything and soon could whine to each other a swell as celebrate our victories. We instantly clicked and Adrian is someone I can come talk to and feel absolutely comfortable with, no matter how much time has passed since our last conversation.
Have you met IRL or are you planning on it?
If I had the chance, I definitely wouldn’t say no! Sadly, distance is a thing, but I’m sure that someday (when I’m not poor as a church mouse), our travels will connect our ways, so never say never ;)
We haven’t met yet, but I really hope we will one day! Once I win the lottery, that is…
What is the best thing about Leof / Adrian?
These two have history ever since Hogwarts and even though they started off badly, they eventually overcame their differences (and I think that’s a really great start to a friendship ngl). By now they even had awkward situations, but they still always have each other’s back. I think the term I came up with once - “Sharing and caring” - still describes them perfectly and that’s what I love about them.
The way that they both support each other no matter what gets thrown their way is something I absolutely adore about these two. Even if it is only one of them that is having a rough time, the other one will always be there to support without anyone even having to say a thing. And then there’s of course also the intern jokes they have due to their history together, and to be honest they always make me laugh so that’s also something I like a lot with them!
Do you have any advice to people who are scared of taking the first step and meeting someone online?
Well if you’re nervous you could just start small, like making video calls first or something. Then meeting in real life wouldn’t be so weird since you’ve already seen each other. And don’t forget that nothing will change between you just because you meet in real life, it only means that you will actually look at the person when talking to them instead of looking at a computer screen!
It’s only natural to be nervous, but in my opinion the person you’re about to meet is still the same person you have been talking to all along. Nothing will change the view they have of you, they like you after all! Remember: You are friends :3 The friends theme inevitably started playing in my head.
Whats the best about having a friend online?
I don’t make much difference between having an ‘online’ friend and a ‘real’ friend - to me both are ‘real’. You talk to them, share your thoughts and feelings with them, you exchange opinions and you receive help. The friends you find on WoP naturally have an equal passion for writing as you - that’s when you write topics together, discuss creative ideas or wonder whether what you wrote made sense - which is simply fantastic in my eyes.
I don’t think of it as any different from having a friend IRL, I mean you’re still friends right? However, I do really like the fact that you can befriend people from all over the world online and get to hear about how life is in other countries except from your own, and also how life is for a person who is completely different from you. And of course, no matter how different you are, you can always be sure of the fact that you both have something in common if you’ve met on a site such as WoP!
How incredible is that?! Its truly amazing to see that World of Potter bring people together and is helpful in making amazing friendships across the globe!
That was all this time around, but if you and your friend(s) want a post about your friendship, please owl and we will figure something out.
Until we meet again, stay magical!
