Welcome to this weeks edition of "All about that Lime" Today I'm joined by one of most well known members of the teaching staff, Professor Daddy Benedict Ashloft. Without further ado let's get into the interview.
Hello Benedict! I have a few questions for you! First off, what subject(s) do you teach, and what made you want to become a professor?
Hello Miss Watkins, it is a pleasure to be here. I am teaching Transfiguration – the art of making things change form, appear or disappear out of thin air. It is a challenging subject, and most possibly that drew me to teaching in the first place as well. Being a professor allows me to dive into the depths of its complexity, and sometimes, if I am lucky, one of my students ask me a question I have not thought of before.
Very intresting! Transfiguration has always intruiged me since I started here at Hogwarts!
If you weren't a Professor here at Hogwarts, is there a different career you would want to persue, and if so, what is it?
There are always other careers, Miss Watkins. But it doesn't do to dwell on the hypotheticals. If another opportunity arises, I will consider it when the time comes. But for now, I am content teaching my bright students. It gives me time to write my contribution to Transfiguration Today and make my own scientific discoveries.
That makes sense. I can see why you wouldn't be worried about looking for another job.
Lastly, What are you most looking forward to in your teaching years to come?
Recognition. Let me explain it like this: Every year that passes, another class graduates, all more enlightened in the art of transfiguration than they were the year before. I have given them knowledge, I take great pride in that. Some day, they will thank me for it.
That's amazing. Recognition is something that not many people would get! Whenever those students use transfiguration outside of school they'll look back and think, "Professor Ashloft taught me that!"
It's been great talking to you Benedict! Thank you so much for letting me interview you!
You are very welcome. I like this project of yours, but do not forget to do your homework and hand in your Transfiguration essay as well.
See you later Professor, and I'll catch you all next time in another edition of "All about that Lime!" Hazel out!
