Vol. 005.

Have you ever wondered "What would this Harry Potter
character read if they lived nowadays? It is an interesting
question which I will try and answer in this blog! Each
blog will focus on one character from Harry Potter, and I will
give 3-5 different books that I could imagine them reading if they
lived today. Hopefully, this will also be able to give you some interesting recommendations for new and old books you need to check out!

Neville is a character that many people love, especially for his loyalty towards the trio. Despite being a person who follows the rules, Neville is the type who would always stand up for his friends. I am sure that these are some books that he would enjoy if he ever found himself reading.

This book is written by Jandy Nelson. As kids, the twins Jude and Noah were inseparable. Despite the two being very much opposites, they were a 2-pack. Yet, years later they are now barely speaking, living two separate lives. Something has happened to change both of their lives for the worse - and with only half a story to tell each, it is hard to find their way back to each other. I'll Give You the Sun was nominated for best Young Adult fiction in 2014 and is a beautiful tale. It is said to leave you breathless, with tears and your eyes and laughing, even at once.

This book was written by M. L. Rio and is the story of Oliver Marks. After ten years in jail, he gets out to a sight he did not expect to see: the detective who actually put him in jail. Questioning what he wants, he learns that he wants to know what truly happened 10 years ago. Oliver was part of 7 actors, studying at an elite art school. Much like they play roles on the stage, they play the same roles off the stage - including the villain and the hero. When the casting suddenly changes, and everything seems to go wrong, one of them is found gone, and the rest of the 6 actors have to play the biggest act they have ever had to do. If We Were Villains is a book that puts together mystery and thriller, in an interesting tale. It is suggested you check out the trigger warnings of this book beforehand.

This book was written by Lana Harper and tells the story of Emma Harlow, a witch. Due to not having been home in years, her powers have become weak, due to the exile she has placed on herself. But once she hears that her home town has a spellcasting tournament, she decides to go back, partly due to her family. While she is determined to do what needs to be done, she is also sure to return back to her home in Chicago once everything is over. But she is soon drawn into revenge that her best friend and another girl wish upon the heir of the most powerful magical family - and now the question is simply: is she in? Payback's a Witch is the first in a series about the town of Thistle Grove and a cute romance book, crossed over with some fantasy.
